Environmental Impact & Sustainability

At Coldblow Coffee we are always looking at new ways to reduce the impact of our coffee on the environment and supporting sustainability; seeking out new ways of reducing, reusing and recycling.

We recognise that we have a moral responsibility to the environment, not just a legal one. With this, being more sustainable is always integral to our plans and day to day happenings. Below are some of the methods that we currently have in place and issues that we are seeking solutions to.

PACKAGING

Head over to our packaging page to find our more about what we use.

COFFEE CHAFF

Coffee chaff is a waste product from the roasting process; the protective husk separates from the green bean. However this waste product makes a great addition to compost & chicken beds so we bag it up and hand it over to the farm where the Roastery is based.

GREEN COFFEE SACKS

Our coffee is delivered in hessian sacks lined with GrainPro bags, the pallets are also wrapped in plastic. We give away the hessian sacks to customers, where people turn them into all manners of things: cushions, curtains, shopping bags and blankets. We are still looking into a recycling option for the GrainPro bags!

DELIVERY

A lot of our customers are based locally and for these we deliver by hand. However for customers based further afield we primarily use DPD.
